The Mission

Loughborough University and Times Newspapers are launching a new partnership, which will include a free digital subscription for the whole University community for a year. As part of this, five students are being sought who are interested in journalism, marketing, and the future of communication. These five ambassadors will play a key role in the partnership, helping to launch events, coming up with new initiatives and ideas, and generally promoting the relationship between the University and the UK’s most trusted newspaper of record.

We are looking for five current Loughborough University students interested in journalism, marketing or the likes to spread the word about The Times' and The Sunday Times Student Subscription and help us reach students with our quality journalism.

The Role

The Times and The Sunday Times are looking for five ambitious students to work as ambassadors within Loughborough University for the UK’s most trusted newspaper.

The Ambassadors will help in organising on campus marketing events, identifying suitable sponsorship opportunities and encouraging students to sign up to their free subscriptions. The student ambassador should be an advocate for The Times and Sunday Times brand and think of innovative ways of making students aware of our quality, trusted newspaper and download their subscription.

This role is a voluntary position giving you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience ready for future careers. This opportunity offers a free 12 month subscription, discounts and Times + offers along with exclusive on campus times events. Successful applicants will be invited for an Induction to our offices in London Bridge to meet some of our editors and understand the workings of a large leading newspaper

The Person

Ambitious - Willing to go above and beyond and make an impression on contacts at one of the biggest names in media.

Passionate - For media, journalism and genuinely interested in The Times.

Creative - Someone who is able to think outside of the box, push the boundaries and always looking for opportunities to go above and beyond. Someone who can think and work innovatively and independently

Knowledge - Of the college of Loughborough and a strong understanding of what The Times and The Sunday Times stand for

Unflustered - Ability to think on your feet, face strangers with confidence and challenge yourself in new situations.
