Social Media Manager, Driving.co.uk

Driving.co.uk is a leading free-to-view motoring website published by The Sunday Times, featuring motoring-related news, reviews, advice and more, with a particular focus on lifestyle content.
Working with Driving.co.uk site editor to meet social media channel growth targets, the Social Media Editor will be required to originate posts for the key Driving social channels – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube – as well as determine new channels that will help grow our reach with specific audiences.
A thorough understanding of what types of posts and tone of voice work best for each channel is essential.
The successful candidate will need to produce weekly analytics reports for the editor of driving.co.uk with a view to fine-tuning future posts for maximum reach and engagement.
They will be required to source and edit images and videos for bespoke social posts, as well as identify social opportunities from the articles created by the Driving.co.uk editorial team.
They will also be asked to create and maintain a social activity calendar, identifying key events, holidays, etc. for timely posts.
The ability to produce clean (error-free) copy for the social posts is vital.
As well as creating social posts, the Social Media Editor may also be required to write articles and edit videos for Driving.co.uk.
The Content Assistant will also be expected to monitor social performance and use the information to optimise future activity.
Knowledge & skills
- Excellent English language skills
- Proven experience in growing audiences on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
- Photoshop experience essential
- Video editing experience essential
- Editing and sub-editing experience
- Interest in cars
- Adept at time management
- Experience of Content Management Systems useful
- Some experience working on successful social campaigns for a brand/ publisher
