Bridge Studio is the creative content agency within News UK and we are looking for a talented, multi-skilled Senior Designer to join our award winning team.

We create bespoke campaigns for our clients and agencies that harness emotions to change how people think, feel and act around commercial brands. We do this by telling stories that entertain, excite and inspire across digital, print, video, social, audio, events and more.

We craft editorial content that forges powerful connections with the audiences reached through News UKs portfolio: The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, Wireless radio, Unruly and Storyful.

The Bridge Studio design team works with creative leads, picture editors and project managers to think up, create and deliver the best blend of editorial and branded cross platform content whilst collaborating with the industries finest photographers, videographers, illustrators, set designers, stylists and artists.

The role of the Senior Designer is vital to ensuring that Studio projects meet the highest possible standards. The ideal candidate will have strong digital and print skills and will be a key figure in pioneering new techniques, products, skill sets and innovations to ensure that our work is the best in the industry.


Work closely with the Associate Creative Director and Art Director to lead the design of key campaigns for clients, developing forward thinking visual concepts and executing them across multiple platforms

Liaise with external clients and internal stakeholders to uphold the highest design standards and influence the best professional practices ensuring that our work is above industry standard

Create a portfolio of innovative digital offerings for clients and agencies

Developing design and shoot concepts and working with the Director of Photography and Art Director to commission photographers, stylists, set designers, illustrators and artists that are best suited for specific projects and briefing them in detail and to budget

To remain up-to-speed on creative industry developments and current design trends and to ensure that the design desks output is continuously fresh and innovative

To aid in the Art Direction of both video and photo shoots with clarity of the end result, and an eye for spotting opportunities for generating additional content for social and digital platforms whilst on set

Required skills:

Full understanding of editorial design principles with excellent and demonstrable typography skills

Fully competent in designing cross platform. UX/UI is highly advantageous

An enviable contacts book and experience in commissioning illustrators, photographers, set designers, artists and stylists.

Experience in art directing both photo and video shoots is advantageous

Excellent oral/visual communication skills, including the ability to communicate ideas and concepts to clients and other stakeholders within the business

Highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Edge.

Highly organised and able to pivot between daily deadlines and longer-term projects

The skill set and leadership abilities to mentor more junior members of the team

Problem-solving skills and the ability to develop design solutions to a changing brief

The initiative to take on and learn new tasks in a fast-moving environment

Solid understanding of the commercial content market and how to produce content for commercial brands, clients and agencies

Is truly platform agnostic when developing ideas and has the ability to make content work cross-platform with due consideration for both commercial brand effectiveness and audience user journey

Well versed in social media-specific concepts. With an understanding of execution formats and creative best practice for social media networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube

Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS would be advantageous
