Events is an area of strategic importance to News UK. We currently deliver 200+ events per year delivering revenue to our business and significant value in terms of customer and client engagement. Events sits within the News Productions organisation, a new department with great content at its core, and delivering this content via events, video and audio to internal customers including editorial, marketing and commercial as well as external companies and partners.
Role & Responsibilities
This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in a fast-paced events team for some of the UK’s biggest media brands.
The intern will provide support for the internal events delivery teams across all brands – The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, Wireless and News UK as a whole
The intern will assist the team working at events, so evening work will be required.
Specific tasks will include:
- Setting up new suppliers
- Cheque requests
- Raising PO’s
- Assisting the team with small travel bookings
- Supporting on venue research
- Supporting on talent research
- Supporting on preferred supplier list
- Setting up, Inputting and updating events.
- Goody bag stuffing/ordering, mailouts, ad hoc admin tasks, inbox management (case by case)
- Merchandise ordering
- Ticketing platform support
- Assisting on small events
Skills and experience
Experience working in an office is essential
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational skills
Positive can do attitude
Able to use Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Strong communication skills
Available to start immediately
