Are you an experienced IT professional who is seeking career progression to senior technical or management-level responsibilities, but also enjoys and wants to retain hands-on IT delivery and problem-solving duties? If so, the Systems Engineer role at Tibus is ideally suited to you.

Applicants should have recent, relevant experience in Linux systems engineering, a strong grasp of cloud, web hosting and associated technologies, plus an awareness of current and emerging industry trends.

The successful applicant will take responsibility for technical design, maintenance and stability of our Linux platforms. Their duties will include input to the strategic direction for our technical work, ensuring we deliver - on time and on budget - to customer requirements, and acting as lead engineer by mentoring and reviewing the work of other team members.

Underpinning all of that will be key security responsibilities, such as ensuring the ongoing development of Tibus Information Security Management System under the ISO27001 standard. Experience of working in an ISO27001-certificated organisation or upholding similarly high standards on a large scale is essential.

The role sits within our senior technical team, reporting to the Managing Director and contributing to business planning and strategy. Tibus is owned by the Wireless Group Ltd. and provides hosting, streaming and digital infrastructure services to more than 4,500 public and private sector clients in the UK and Ireland.

Those clients value the quality and reliability of our platforms, our security-conscious approach, and the personable, knowledgeable nature of the support they receive from us.

Our new Systems Engineer must be committed to maintaining those standards, while managing the pressures and tight deadlines of our fast-paced workplace. That means spotting problems or opportunities and acting upon them independently, finding solutions to technical problems and escalating issues when appropriate.

For the right person, this job represents an exciting opportunity to join a successful company and be a key player in steering its future development; to take on more responsibilities without moving away from practical IT work; and to pass on your knowledge and experience to others while also continuing to progress your own technical skills
