Freelance Video Producers
The Sun is seeking freelance video producers or broadcast journalists to create video content for its website and social platforms.
The successful candidate will have experience of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects and be able to produce
compelling video on all subjects at speed without compromising accuracy or editorial standards.
Newsroom experience is desirable.
Video producers should also be comfortable shooting on DSLR's like the C100 or Sony FS7s, setting up lights for both in field and in studio projects.
They will have a strong news sense, an exceptional instinct for viral video and be able to spot trends.
They will be adept at writing scripts for annotated videos and have an understanding of The Sun’s audience and the social media audience in general.
We are looking for video producers to work across a range of topics - from hard news, showbiz, consumer, sport and lifestyle.
The candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of what does well on Facebook and YouTube both from a VOD and live perspective and comprehend why certain platforms are best suited to specific formats and styles.
The role demands someone who is bursting with ideas for original content and a desire to work in a fast-paced breaking news environment. The candidate will have an understanding of IPSO and copyright law.
