What’s the job? Sales Support Executive - Travel

Where do I work? News UK – Commercial Department – Travel Team

What’s my personal contribution? Contribute to the profitability and growth of travel products through supporting the product and commercial functions within the team. Have passion about travel and the online environment.

What are my Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Financial reporting

  • Check that all financial info sent back from partners correlates with activity that has taken place and everything is billed accordingly
  • Enter weekly sales into finance system and liaise with Finance dept. to create a dash-board to show weekly sales for each title
  • Analyse sales data in terms of product and suppliers and make recommendations to sales/product team with regards to activity
  • Forecast weekly, monthly, annual revenue reports against budgets and targets
  • Look at search trends on social, digital and email and make recommendations with regards to products and activity
  • Review sales/rev reports against digital and in-paper marketing activity and make recommendations for further spend
  • Carry out weekly reports for major partners and track conversion to ensure targets are being met
  • Manage contracts and ensure all sales data is reported as per the partner’s contractual agreement

Weekly travel emails The Sun / The Times

  • Send order forms to clients who have bought insertions, ensure signed and filed
  • Send template to clients who have bought insertions ensuring these have been completed correctly
  • Load offers into CMS, as per template, to create landing pages for the weekly travel emails
  • Ensure all copy, price, discount message is correct and accurate
  • Check tracking and links to partner sites/landing pages are working
  • Allocate telephone numbers to track calls
  • Populate website with deals for the weekly Editorial e-mail

Digital merchandising – Website

  • Aide the Marketing and Merchandising Executives to input travel offers into the CMS to populate the website
  • Ensure all copy, price, discount message is correct and accurate
  • Ensure all images are fit for purpose, high-res and show the offer in true light. Liaise with partners for alternative images where necessary
  • Check tracking, links and call to action
  • Ensure that we have the latest Editorial content from the Travel Editors, on the site at all times. This content is tagged up for destination searches and displayed on relevant holiday searches
  • Allocate telephone numbers for tracking
  • Send contracts and order forms to clients, file once signed.

Communication with Partners –

Administration –

  • Create order forms for billing individual partners
  • Create SAP codes for billing and tracking
  • Liaise with finance to ensure all activity is billed correctly and accounted for.
  • Maintain a log of images for the website and email from tourist boards and hotel directly
  • Liaise with external partners to obtain images and photography and co-ordinate sign off and approvals with Partners
  • Work with the Design team to create a monthly Travel newsletter to distribute to commercial clients and partners
